Engineering Team Leader

NT Engineering & Manufacturing are delighted to be supporting our distilling client with the appointment of an Engineering Team Leader to join their engineering function in Bathgate.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering professional who enjoys leading teams, driving continuous improvement and ensuring engineering activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Role

As Engineering Team Leader, you'll be responsible for leading the day-to-day engineering operation, ensuring planned and reactive maintenance is completed efficiently while supporting production performance and asset reliability.

Working closely with the Engineering Manager, you'll coordinate maintenance activities, support your engineering team and play a key role in driving continuous improvement across site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of maintenance engineers.
  • Coordinate planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown activities.
  • Prioritise engineering work to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
  • Promote a strong health & safety culture across the engineering department.
  • Coach and develop engineers, providing technical support where required.
  • Monitor engineering performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with production and site leadership to achieve operational objectives.
  • Ensure maintenance systems and documentation are accurately maintained.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience leading or supervising an engineering team within manufacturing or process industries.
  • An engineering qualification (ONC, HNC, BTEC Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience coordinating maintenance activities and supporting continuous improvement.
  • The ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems and manufacturing best practice would be advantageous.
