An opportunity to join an ambitious and fast paced organisation that make some of Scotland's most well known brands are seeking an experienced health and safety professional to join their business as an Advisor to oversee safety within one of their largest sites based in Glasgow area.
There are lots of people across this site and this role will require you to work and influence many of them so your communication and influencing skills will be keyt along with the ability to train others into new ways of working. There is a particular focus on machine safety and line safety so it would be preferred that you have experience of working in a manufacturing environment on production line safety procedures.
You will be part of a fairly sized team so will have good support around you and the opportunity to learn from others. There are also great career development opportunities for the right individual. The site has many different processes and it is a great opportunity to learn.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supporting the health and safety strategy by data analysis and looking at upcoming legislation changes
- Support and advise on all legislative changes
- Provide statistical reporting on key safety metrics and identify trends to create action plans with continuous improvement being at the forefront of your role
- Controlling site works from Health and Safety perspective such as permit to work procedures, control of contractors, risk assessments, Incident investigation, management of change, emergency response
- Provide occupational health surveillance support based on defined risk matrix.
- Deliver H&S training (regulatory/awareness) as defined in the Competency Framework.
- Drive continuous improvement within the Health & Safety Framework/Integrated Management System.
- Co- ordinate the work of external regulators, auditors and/or third-party consultants governing effective and timely closure of any actions.
- Follow and comply with all company processes, standards, and guidelines in the performance of your role, reporting any non-conformances in a timely manner.
- Contribute and participate in the Team Performance System through engaging in team meetings and taking an active part in problem solving activities.
- Work collaboratively with peers and colleagues and apply learnings from identified training and development activities required to perform in role.
