NT Engineering & Manufacturing is recruiting on behalf of a leading civil engineering and energy infrastructure contractor for a Section Engineer to join its Energy Team on a major electricity transmission framework.
The business delivers design, construction and commissioning for projects across four countries, working with major energy providers and focused on innovation and sustainability.
What you’ll be doing
- Promoting best practice in health, safety and environmental matters alongside the SHQE team
- Assisting with temporary works design schemes
- Building strong working relationships with the client, designers, the team and the supply chain
- Advising engineers on setting out methods and techniques
- Checking drawings and specifications are accurate and complete, and requesting missing information in time to keep the programme moving
- Briefing foremen and supervisors, and overseeing the selection of materials and plant
- Preparing risk assessments and method statements, keeping a full daily site diary and making sure inspection and test plans are completed
What we’re looking for
- Experience on construction or civil engineering projects
- Experience with ITPs, RAMS and temporary works
- Excellent knowledge of civil engineering, health and safety and environmental legislation
- Confidence discussing engineering issues with people at all levels
- The ability to produce, implement and manage safe systems of work
