Key Responsibilities

 

· Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on bottling lines, liquid processing equipment, conveyors, labelling machines, case packers, palletisers, and utilities.

· Diagnose and repair electrical faults on low voltage systems, control panels, sensors, motors, drives, and PLC related equipment.

· Conduct mechanical repairs including gearboxes, pneumatics, and machine adjustments.

· Execute inspections, maintenance, and verification of Ex-rated equipment in compliance with BS EN 60079 and ATEX requirements.

· Maintain records of inspections (Ex01–Ex04 competency).

· Advise on equipment suitability and zoning (ATEX 137, DSEAR).

· Ensure modifications do not compromise hazardous area certification.

· Provide rapid diagnostics and engineering support to minimise production downtime.

· Optimise machine performance through continuous improvement activities.

· Support OEE analysis and defect reduction initiatives.

· Contribute to engineering projects including aging plant upgrades, automation enhancements, safety improvements, and equipment installations.

· Assist with commissioning, testing, and validation of new plant equipment.

· Update engineering drawings, documentation, and control system backups.

· Work in line with DSEAR, PUWER, LOLER, and relevant food & beverage industry standards.

· Participate in safety risk assessments, permit to work processes, and incident investigations.

· Ensure work complies with distillery or bottling site safety procedures and UK H&S legislation.

· Maintain accurate maintenance records in the Agility PPM system.

· Document Ex-inspection findings and corrective actions.

· Provide engineering reports, root cause analyses, and improvement recommendations.
