About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Maintenance Engineer. Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving electrical systems and production equipment to ensure maximum operational efficiency and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical equipment and machinery.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform fault finding to minimise production downtime.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults on motors, drives, control panels, sensors, PLC-controlled systems, and associated equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and performance.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in accordance with company procedures and health & safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using the CMMS system.
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, and modification of machinery and equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to achieve operational targets.

Requirements

Essential

  • Recognised electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent).
  • Experience in an electrical maintenance role within a manufacturing, production, FMCG, logistics, or industrial environment.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery.
  • Good understanding of electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a shift engineering team.

Desirable

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
  • Knowledge of Siemens, Allen Bradley, or Mitsubishi PLC systems.
  • Experience with automated production or packaging equipment.
  • IOSH or health & safety qualifications.
