Stores Coordinator
Girvan
Permanent
NT Engineering & Manufacturing are proud to be supporting our client in the energy sector in their search for a Stores Coordinator to join their Maintenance team at their site in Girvan.
This is a brilliant role for someone who has a systematic mindset and organised approach who can come in and reorganise their stores function. Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, you'll take real ownership of getting the site's stores properly organised, centralised and under control.
If you're someone who takes real pride in bringing order to chaos, isn't afraid to roll your sleeves up, and genuinely enjoys the challenge of starting from scratch and doing it properly, this is going to appeal to you.
What you'll be doing:
- Consolidating spares and stock currently scattered across a large site into a single, centralised, properly organised stores location
- Conducting full inventory checks - correctly identifying items and logging them onto the CMMS system (Agility) with accurate locations
- Controlling all outgoing items, ensuring movements are recorded against CMMS and PPM activity
- Accepting and logging all incoming deliveries, registering stock to the correct store locations
- Conducting regular cycle counts and periodic full stock audits to maintain inventory accuracy
- Managing consumables, spares, and fast-moving parts — including pump and motor assemblies, oils and greases — using Kanban replenishment principles to keep availability high without excess stock
- Controlling LOLER equipment sign-in/sign-out and COSHH materials storage and compliance
- Maintaining stores organisation using 5S principles — clear labelling, location control and efficient retrieval
- Working closely with the Maintenance Planner and wider maintenance team (2 mechanics, 1 electrical) to keep critical spares available when needed
- Use of telehandler and forklift for stock movements within the stores
What we're looking for:
- Strong computer and Microsoft skills
- Experience in a stores, warehouse or inventory role
- Understanding of inventory control concepts (reorder points, safe stock levels)
- Strong housekeeping standards and Health & Safety awareness
- Able to identify engineering spare parts and understand their purpose
- Experience with a CMMS system
- An organised, systematic mindset - able to work through a large, messy job methodically and on your own initiative
- Desirable: in-date forklift licence (counterbalance and/or reach), COSHH awareness or IOSH Managing Safely, First Aid at Work/Fire Warden, Lean/5S or Kaizen training, experience raising purchase orders
Why this role?
- Join a growing, sustainability-focused business making a real environmental impact
- A role that rewards initiative, structure and a genuine hands-on approach
- Be part of a collaborative team with real support from maintenance and planning colleagues
If this sounds like you, get in touch - I'd love to talk you through it properly.
