About the Role

We are looking for an experienced CNC Turner with strong Fanuc controls experience to join a busy manufacturing team based in Glasgow.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented engineer who takes pride in producing high-quality precision components. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machines while ensuring components are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to exact specifications.

Working within a fast-paced engineering environment, you will play a key role in supporting production targets, maintaining quality standards, and contributing to continuous improvement activities across the machine shop.


Key Responsibilities

  • Program, set, and operate CNC turning machines using Fanuc controls
  • Manufacture precision-engineered components in line with technical drawings and specifications
  • Select appropriate tooling, offsets, and machine settings for production runs
  • Carry out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances accurately
  • Monitor machining operations to ensure quality and efficiency standards are maintained
  • Identify and resolve machining or tooling issues where possible
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to meet manufacturing deadlines
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with Health & Safety procedures and company standards
  • Maintain a clean and organised working environment

What You’ll Bring

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a CNC Turner within a manufacturing or precision engineering environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Fanuc controls
  • Experience programming, setting, and operating CNC lathes independently
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Understanding of tooling, cutting parameters, and machining techniques
  • Experience using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Apprentice trained or relevant engineering qualification
  • Experience working with a variety of materials including stainless steel and aluminium
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement or lean manufacturing practices
  • Experience with multi-axis CNC machinery
